“All the trends in the e-commerce market show up very quickly here.”
To operate in an incredibly fast-moving market, you need to stay on top of what's going on - what the trends and innovations are. In addition, sharing knowledge and your brand name is becoming increasingly important. One solution is to do that online. But most Dutch digital commerce companies still need face-to-face contact. Just an online presence is not enough.
A frequently used offline medium is a trade fair such as the Webwinkel Vakdagen (WWV) - by far the largest in the Benelux. During the WWV you will meet every player in the Dutch e-commerce sector to network, generate new business and spot trends.
What Niels Bergmans of exhibitor Sendcloud has to say
Niels Bergmans, Partner Manager at Sendcloud agrees. "During the WWV you meet your entire target group in two days, plus all the agencies and companies that have something to do with e-commerce. All the trends in the e-commerce market show up very quickly here. Once they're visible, you can discuss them right away with anyone who's here."
Sendcloud: exhibiting for 5 years now
At SendCloud, it's all about efficiency. This shipping platform offers merchants the option of arranging the entire shipping process - from check-out to return - in a single platform and the possibility to integrate different shippers and platforms like Magento.
You could say that Sendcloud is the spider in the web between merchant, sender and receiver. In other words, the company is at the heart of the e-commerce sector, making it a logical participant of the WWV. Bergmans: "We've been exhibiting for Sendcloud for over five years. We became familiar with the WWV through their own branding, and through the stories in the community about the value added during these days. Those are also the main reasons for Sendcloud to be here every year."
Sendcloud has a clear objective for attending the WWV. Bergmans: "It's really simple: branding. We really want to make sure that we are present here, because this is where the entire e-commerce world from the Netherlands and Belgium comes together. We simply have to be there to be able to share our knowledge with them and be visible to the target audience."
Brand awareness and knowledge sharing are important goals for Sendcloud. According to Bergmans, the WWV plays a large, facilitating role in this: "They help us by means of the pure energy, the hustle and bustle, the people who come here with good questions - sparking a good conversation - all with the aim of being able to grow themselves. We can achieve our goals because the WWV manages to put those elements together."
As the most important reason for recommending the WWV to potential exhibitors, Bergmans mentions that the event is extremely efficient when it comes to reaching your target group. "Over two days, you meet your entire target audience here, plus all the agencies and companies that have something to do with e-commerce." That saves you at least three days in the car to drive around the Netherlands," says Bergmans.
He adds: "You notice that the people (visitors, ed.) attend the fair to look for value and add value themselves. Another thing I really like is the innovation you see here. All the trends in the e-commerce market show up very quickly here. Once they're visible, you can discuss them right away with anyone who's here."
